Denmark acquitted by the EU Court

Denmark’s interpreation of the meaning of a cabotage job was first challenged by the European Commission back in 2013. The case has just concluded on 12 April 2018 and the EU court ruled that Denmark’s interpretation is legitimate.

As you will know, under cabotage rules you can carry out up to 3 cabotage jobs in 7 days within the host member state.  Where the Danish interpreation is particular is that one cabotage job can consist of multiple loading or unloading, but not both in one job. Ie you can make multiple loadings to be delivered at one location or one loading to be delivered at multiple locations; these are counted as one cabotage trip, but multiple loadings to be delivered at multipe locations will be counted as multiple cabotage jobs.
