Czech Republic has declared a state of emergency in response to the coronavirus epidemic.
Among the measures introduced, Czech citizens have been banned from visiting 15 high-risk countries (China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Spain, Austria, Germany, the U.K., France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and Denmark). Reciprocally, citizens from all these countries have been banned from entering the Czech Republic.
A special regime will be introduced on the country’s borders with Austria and Germany from midnight on Friday. Foreigners will not be able to enter the Czech Republic from Germany and Austria. The return of Czechs from abroad and departure of foreigners will be still possible, but only via 11 selected border crossings, with border checks being reintroduced.
Carriers in international passenger transport based in the Czech Republic as well as carriers based outside the Czech Republic are allowed to move their empty buses/trains/vessels without passengers across the Czech border in either direction.
The Slovak government has also declared a state of emergency in the country.
Temporary border checks are introduced in Slovakia on all border crossings except for Poland as of Friday morning, while only people with permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia and holders of Slovak passport can enter the country.
Drivers of freight transport are ordered to wear respirators FFP2 or FFP3 during loading and unloading of goods, they should maximally limit direct contact with personnel and their vehicle should be equipped with rubber gloves to use it and with antibacterial gel for regular hand washing.
